AquaMinerale, a highly successful brand on the Russian market and part of the PepsiCo portfolio, has launched during July 2019 the new packaging for its line of flavored water, dedicated to those who want to look after their well-being every day.
Behind the restyling, which aims to give a new look to the AquaMinerale brand identity by raising consumers’ perception of its relevance and dynamism, PET Engineering worked closely with PepsiCo’s New York design center, author of the bottle concept, the EER design team in PepsiCo, who designed the shrink label and the R&D departments from NY and Russia, also dealt with the management of a far more complex project than the creation of a packaging design exclusively for the Russian brand. In fact, the bottle, after the launch and tests for the Russian market, will be used for the brand AQUAFINA® globally, with the purpose of being consolidated through a one brand – one shape strategy.
The challenge faced by PET Engineering had, therefore, as an objective to guarantee the greatest possible adherence to the concept developed by the PepsiCo design center and, at the same time, to ensure that the new packaging adapts to all bottling lines and production conditions of different plants (preform weights, materials, neck finishes and different caps). Through prototyping services, laboratory tests based on PepsiCo specifications, and industrial tests in the Samara, Ekaterinburg and St. Petersburg plants on Sidel, Krones and KHS lines, PET Engineering guaranteed an optimal result and a packaging that, thanks to the combination of shape and transparent label, conveys a feeling of purity, well-being and lightness.
