The technical staff appointed to the research of new solutions and new materials, constantly contends with new challenges: new studies on the preform design, new materials to verify, new barrier and scavengers to analyze and in consequence tests and assessments on the shelf life of the contents. To identify the right material suitable to the customer’s requirements is one of the key objectives of R&D of PET Engineering, thus as supporting the customer in the search of the right preform adapted to the type of product or the planning and prototipation of innovative new preforms. 4 - From the idea to the container: the design and the planning. Thanks to an historical experience in this field and with more than 8.000 bottle designed up till today, PET Engineering is in the position to indicate the best design in order to guarantee the efficiency of the line and industrialization of the container. Innovative designs, ergonomic structures, eye-catching containers but at the same time practical : these are the bases that move the planning of the structure of a new bottle in PET. Through its designers and data base, PET Engineering is perfectly in a position to create the right match between marketing requirements and those of production. The animation and the elaboration of renderings are able to give to the customer the idea and the perception of the final result with extraordinary immediacy, thus as the realization of the sample bottles in a short time.
5 - Test in record time: a laboratory to the vanguard. The first sample bottles could be available in 24 hours after the approval of the design. The laboratory of our technological Centre is equipped to verify the containers and its physic-mechanical specifications. PET Engineering offers in fact a profound service of analyses and tests, with the objective to support the activity of engineering and concurring with the customer to verify in a short time the quality of the bottles and the preforms. Besides the standard tests, as the measurement of the oxygen barrier, or other tests with the use of simulation software for the loss of CO2, the laboratory is in a position to dedicate also to personalized tests requested from the specification of the customer.
We put into the hands of our customers all the detailed report resulting from the tests operated in order to verify the rightness of the chosen design and to identify the potentially improvement points. Our structure is moreover organized for being able to supply a small number of samples of approximately 5.000/10,000 bottles or to test directly with the customer on the productive lines. One of the more important and recognized prerogatives of PET Engineering is the CONFIDENTIALITY of the projects, in particular with reference to the development of sensitive projects. Substantial investments have been carried out in the new Technological Centre with the object to protect the know how acquired and the experimentations, guaranteeing to the customer giving the maximum degree of confidentiality in every activity.
6 - A design that becomes truth: the industrialization. The designing of the moulds is one of the most delicate but also simpler phases thanks to the standardization caught up from PET Engineering. Our Company is able to realize blow moulds for every type of existing blowing machines, with quick deliveries and certified quality. All the realized moulds are subjected to verifications and tests before being delivered to the customers. First of all a dimensional check will be carried out in order to guarantee that the mould is compatible with the customer’s machine. For the measurements of various tool parts, appropriate instruments are used, calibrated and certified every year. To this verification is also added a water control in order to ascertain the regular water flow inside of the mould and the cooling. Therefore, the heat treatments of the mould are checked, which are finalized to ascertain the protection from oxidation and wear. PET Engineering pays also attention to the search of solutions oriented to the optimization of mould change, towards a maximum productivity of the filling line and the reduction of the time of format changes. Our success rightly confirms this: more than 2000 cavities have been produced in 2008.
7 - Always to your service: we support your job. Our technicians supply to our customers all the necessary support for installation and start up of the new blow moulds on every type of blow mould machine.
